It’s obvious that herbs have their place in many traditional dishes like soups, stews and roasted meats.

Historically, herbs have been around for thousands of years and were primarily used to season food as well as treat illnesses due to their medicinal properties. Take sage, for example. During the middle ages, it was used as a healing agent to prevent the plague.
Current research indicates that sage now may be able to improve brain function and memory (especially in people with Alzheimer’s disease) and reduces blood sugar levels. Herbs not only add flavor and dimension – they heal us from the inside out!

- Rosemary: A natural bacteria fighter. The active ingredient in rosemary is called rosmarinic acid which has also been shown to suppress allergic responses and nasal congestion.
- Cinnamon: Contains anti-inflammatory compounds.
- Ginger: Improves the absorption of nutrients in the body. Ginger also appears to have strong anti-inflammatory properties, and can help with pain management.
